Criticism of Saudi Arabia as fight venue for Joshua vs Ruiz Jr

There has been widespread criticism of the decision to hold the heavyweight boxing rematch between Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz Junior in Saudi Arabia.
It is a decision that has drawn criticism, following the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, and the country’s ongoing military campaign in Yemen.
The two will face off on December 7 in Diriyah, on the outskirts of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Al Jazeera’s Sohail Malik reports.

  1. meh no one has the morale grounds. We've legitimated Saudi Arabia anyways because of our need for oil. We've also said its okay to kill a journalist for oil. Just as we allowed bankers to get a get out of jail free pass for illegal transactions of terrorist and cartel money. Fines should be proportional to a yearly revenue.

  6. Today's fighters are weak they have nothing to offer the physical art of combat. Everybody's trying to be a comedian or a YouTube sensation it's so stupid. Has nothing to do with the art of fighting that's why there are no good fighters left in today's whatever.

  7. Saudi arabia is responsible for an ongoing genocide that is currently taking place in Yemen. Shame of Hearn and his team for organizing this blodsoaked event and Anthony Joshua should know better.

It's immoral to support Saudi. Its a country thats ruled by terrible autocrats. They rule by the gun.

The gun is supplied by the US and UK.

It is however very moral to support the US and UK.

  10. Each refusing a million dollar payment for an exhibition match makes Djokovic & Nadal outstanding examples of the highest moral rectitude in sports. Can't expect that out of the boxing world, though.

  11. Bs, the world held protests and america stood firm with saudi arabia , this sharraad is so America doesn't loose its monopoly to control the game and make money in America. They sell weapons to be used on the Yemeni people's. TWISTED DEMOCRACY TO SUIT AMERICAN INTERESTS. Saudis are American PUPPETS. Non ummah interests come first.

  12. Aljazeera and Qatar are trying so hard to stop any event happening in Saudi Arabia, but guess what, the Saudis gives Qatar the finger while the events are going 😂👍
