Draymond Green made a ‘brilliant decision’ by signing a max extension – Jalen Rose | Get Up

Jalen Rose likes Draymond Green’s four-year, $100 million max extension with the Warriors because it will cement his legacy. Jalen adds that Golden State will likely retire his jersey and possibly honor him with a statue.

  1. Brilliant decision? I mean really? What else was he going to do? My little sister could've made that decision! Lol. Honestly, I don't see anyone else that's willing to give him a max deal at this stage in his career. He wouldn't be as successful anywhere else IMO. He's great in GS with what they do. He's surrounded by the best shooters in history which is why his assist numbers were great. Put him on another team and he'll still play D, rebound, run the point etc.. but his numbers will tail off especially in the assist dept. Obviously his ppg already tailed off. I get it, they don't need him to score in their system, but we'll see how his ppg is after next season now that Durant is gone and Klay injured.

  2. Am I the only one thinking, what if Steph and Draymond are THAT duo this year? They have the most chemistry going into it. They could suprise a lot of people this year. I'm a Kings fan because I was born and raised in Sacramento, btw.

  3. Klay had the same deal on the table, last off-season, for $100 million which is the max a year before free agency. The Warriors dynasty could rebuild both because of keeping Klay Thompson, along with the enormous discount from Draymond Green. People would be forgetting that writers effectively scooped $30 million from Klay Thompson with the all NBA snub which means the Warriors got both of them at discounts.

  4. doesnt matter… when you start paying draymond 100mil dynastys over. they wont their chips because stars took plenty of $ off so they could make a team now klay got max dray got paid ……….

  5. Draymond, Cauley Stein & Dlo are my favorite players in the NBA right now. I don't like the Warriors, even though they have 3 of my favorite players on their roster, but I'm really glad Draymond stayed. He's a Warrior to the core & seeing him in another jersey wouldn't be right.

  6. Green is a winner. The best all around 4 I have ever seen? He doesn’t score like Karl Malone, but in all other aspects he’s better. Malone couldn’t lead the break, was not as good a passer, not as good a playmaker, and didn’t have as high a basketball IQ. He was a scorer, And Malone was never DPOY. Could Malone guard 1-5, switch on everything? Could he effectively play the 5 and guard much bigger players? NO.

  7. Why is everyone praising green for this? He’s already playing in a high profile/sought out city with two superstars signed long term. It’s not like he resigned with Detroit or Minnesota.

  8. Jalen, the Warriors are good not because they have a dynamic duo. It’s because of their close to perfection ball movement. That’s why they are able to beat teams with arguably more talents

  9. Draymond is the biggest beneficiary of KDs departure.. because there is no way GS would have offered him a max extension if KD stayed. Now we can see why Draymond was so pissed off at KD.. Klay actually turned down a max extension last season which indicates Green is either aware of his limitations as a player or is wary of unforseen circumstances like injuries that might make his Free agency even tougher. 100mil less taxes is not that impressive, but it is still guaranteed money. I still wouldn't rules out a trade which will package Green and Dlo for an elite SF or big.

  10. Yes the very vetsatile and loyal draymond green has reuped with dubnation if we need him to run the offense he is more then capable of being a triple double machine and on defense he is solid as a rock .great move draymond and lets get ready to defend our western conference title for the 6 season in a row .

  11. No KD and no Klay means Draymond is about to be exposed. Dude averages single digits in every category. Shoots below league average.. It trips me out everytime i hear anyone say they have 3 future hall of famers when he only made the all star team when Steve Kerr was the coach

  12. LOL, brilliant decision?! The bar gets lower and lower every day. He was feenin for that max deal, to the point where he cause GSW to lose KD. How "brilliant" was that move? He was just damn THIRSTY and he got it. Now let's see where that leaves GSW in the long run.

  13. naughty idea: draymond’s outburst against kevin durant was preplanned. if kevin was still with the warriors, the team’s salary cap would swell and leave him with peanuts. do you think this is possible?

  14. analyzing the d’angelo russell addition to the roster: russell may be good, but he’s a redundancy that will only force klay thompson to take the 3-spot if he and steph are on the court. klay will be disadvantaged against bigger 3’s like giannis or paul george. i’d trade russell for a quality big to help in the rebounds.
